Quick answer
To create a practical Alter Ego, choose one situation you want to handle differently, describe two or three behaviors you control, and try one small action today. Use the persona as a reminder of your standards. In NOYR, an Alter Ego provides direction for AI coaching and missions; it is not a psychological assessment.
Choose a situation before choosing a name
Start with a moment that repeats: preparing for a meeting, beginning a creative task, or reaching out to a friend. “Become a completely different person” is difficult to act on. “Prepare one clear point before a meeting” is something you can do today.
The name is optional in this exercise. Choose wording that reminds you of the behavior rather than a label that promises status or superiority. Your direction should remain yours to adjust.
Define standards that someone could observe
A standard is more useful when you can tell whether you followed it. “Be magnetic” has no clear completion condition. “Ask one thoughtful question and listen to the answer” does.
Here is an illustrative direction called “The Prepared One”: arrive with the necessary materials, write down the next question, and finish the action you committed to. This example is an exercise written for this guide; it is not a report of a NOYR user outcome or an app preset.
Turn the direction into one mission
Pick an action small enough to complete within the time and resources you have. For a meeting, the mission might be writing three useful notes beforehand. For a creative project, it might be finishing a rough outline rather than planning an entire new routine.
If the action feels too big, reduce its scope. An incomplete mission can be information about the task, not evidence that your identity failed. You can revise the direction instead of forcing yourself into the character.
- Write the situation: “Before my next meeting…”
- Choose the action: “…I will write three preparation notes.”
- Define completion: “The notes exist before the meeting starts.”
- Reflect afterward: “Did this help me participate the way I intended?”
Using this idea in NOYR
NOYR connects your selected Alter Ego to coaching and daily missions. The app adds Aura Points and an evolving Aura Card to make game progression visible. You still decide whether a suggestion fits your situation.
An Aura Check is a separate photo-feedback feature. A higher photo score does not prove that you followed your standards, and completed missions do not establish psychological change. Keep the reflection grounded in what you actually did.
